Ballarat Marathon

The Running Warehouse Ballarat Marathon is a major two-day road-running festival held in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, approximately 110 kilometres northwest of Melbourne. Launched in 2024, the event has grown remarkably quickly into one of Australia’s larger running festivals: the City of Ballarat reported more than 12,000 entrants across all distances in 2026, with both the marathon and half marathon selling out well before race weekend.

The event is organized by Ballarat Marathon Pty Ltd, working with the City of Ballarat and a range of commercial and community partners; Running Warehouse Australia is the event’s naming-rights partner. The race was developed with strong ties to Ballarat’s running community, and Australian Olympian and Commonwealth Games marathon champion Steve Moneghetti played a central role in designing its signature marathon and half-marathon course.
