Belleville Marathon

The Belleville Main Street Marathon & Half Marathon is a community-focused road race held in Belleville, Illinois, United States, just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. The event is organized by volunteers from the Belleville Running Club and Toolen’s Running Start and operates as a nonprofit event, with proceeds reinvested into the Belleville community. Beneficiaries have included a local food pantry, the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department, and a scholarship fund for local high-school students.

The race is built around one of Belleville’s defining landmarks: Main Street, promoted as America’s longest Main Street. Both the marathon and half marathon start and finish in downtown Belleville near the intersection of Main Street and First Street, close to 19 Public Square. From downtown, runners travel through Belleville’s city streets before returning to the heart of the city for the finish.
