Bienwald Marathon

The Bienwald Marathon is an annual spring marathon held in Kandel, in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany. Established in 1976, it has become a beloved fixture on the German running calendar, known for its flat, fast course through the scenic Bienwald forest and surrounding countryside — ideal for runners chasing personal bests. Alongside the full marathon (42.195 km), a half marathon is also held on the same day, attracting both competitive and recreational athletes each March.
