Butterfly Run

The Butterfly Run Vancouver is a meaningful annual memorial run and walk held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, bringing together families, friends, supporters, and members of the wider community affected by infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss. Rather than being centred solely on competition or finishing times, the event is designed around remembrance, connection, awareness, and support, giving participants an opportunity to honour babies and pregnancies lost while helping families navigating similar experiences feel less alone. The Vancouver event was first held in 2019 and will celebrate its eighth edition in 2026.

The event features a 5K run and 3K walk/run, making it accessible to a broad range of participants rather than exclusively experienced runners. The 2026 edition takes place at Olympic Village Square in Vancouver, with the route incorporating the surrounding False Creek area. Participants who cannot attend in person are also able to take part virtually. Children under 12 may participate free of charge when registered, although the complimentary children’s entry does not include the standard race kit or T-shirt.
