Catholic Health Suffolk County Marathon

The Catholic Health Suffolk County Marathon is one of Long Island’s premier annual running events, bringing together runners of all abilities for a scenic and memorable race weekend in Suffolk County, New York. Held each autumn, the event features a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K Family Trail Run/Walk, and Kids 1K, offering distances for experienced endurance athletes, recreational runners, families, and first-time participants.

More than simply a running competition, the Suffolk County Marathon is a community celebration dedicated to supporting military veterans and their families. As part of the Suffolk County Veterans Run Series, the event raises funds and awareness for organizations providing essential services to veterans throughout the region. Since its inception, the marathon has raised more than $1 million for local veterans’ services, making it one of Long Island’s most meaningful community sporting events.

The marathon takes place along the picturesque southern coastline of Long Island, offering participants an opportunity to experience some of Suffolk County’s most recognizable landscapes. The full marathon and half marathon begin in the historic Village of Babylon, where runners set off through local streets before making their way toward the waterfront and the spectacular Great South Bay.
