DC Half Marathon

The DC Half Marathon is a major fall road race held in Washington, D.C., United States, offering runners a 13.1-mile journey through the streets, parkways and riverfront landscapes of the U.S. capital. Organized by Pacers Running, a longstanding fixture of the Washington-area running community, the event is designed as a hometown celebration of running in the District while also attracting participants from across the United States and beyond.

Held each September, the DC Half combines a competitive half marathon with a 5K and the District Challenge, which allows runners to complete the 5K on Saturday and return the following morning for the half marathon. Together, the two days create a full weekend of running rather than a single Sunday-morning race.

Both races are based at West Potomac Park, a large green space alongside the Potomac River and National Mall. The setting places participants in the heart of Washington, within sight or easy reach of many of the landmarks that define the U.S. capital.
