Demi Marathon Moreau

The Demi Marathon Moreau is one of the premier road running events in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec, bringing together competitive runners, recreational participants, families, and first-time racers for a welcoming celebration of endurance and community spirit. Held each August in the vibrant city of Rouyn-Noranda, the event has grown steadily since its inception into one of northwestern Quebec’s signature running festivals. Organized by a passionate local committee, the race is known for its friendly atmosphere, excellent volunteer support, and scenic routes that showcase the city’s beautiful green spaces and the shores of Lac Osisko.

While the half marathon is the marquee event, the race weekend offers something for everyone. Participants can choose from a full marathon (introduced for the city’s 100th anniversary celebrations in 2026), half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, 2.5 km youth race, and free children’s races over 400 m and 800 m. This broad range of distances has helped establish the Demi Marathon Moreau as a true community festival where experienced athletes, casual runners, and entire families can participate together.
