The DresdenHALF is a new half marathon event launching in Dresden, Saxony, Germany, with its first edition scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026. Organized by Laufszene Events GmbH, the race is designed as a city-focused running experience through one of Germany’s most visually striking historic centres, combining a 21.1 km road race with Dresden’s baroque architecture, riverside scenery, and international city-partnership theme. The official event concept highlights “13 miles, 13 cities, one feeling,” with each mile symbolically dedicated to one of Dresden’s partner cities, turning the half marathon into both a sporting event and a celebration of movement, community, and international friendship.
The course takes runners through the heart of Dresden, passing landmarks such as the Semperoper, Zwinger, Frauenkirche, the old town, the Elbe riverfront, and the Großer Garten park. The half marathon starts at the World Trade Centre Dresden and finishes at the Saxon State Parliament, giving participants a point-to-point urban race experience with a central start and scenic finish. The course has been officially measured under WA/AIMS-DLV standards and is eligible for rankings and records.
