Fuchu Tamagawa Marathon

The Fuchu Tamagawa Marathon is a long-running community road race held beside the Tama River in Fuchu, Tokyo, Japan. Despite the β€œmarathon” name, its principal distance is a certified half marathon, accompanied by certified 10 km, 5 km and one-mile races, as well as short family events for younger children and their parents.

Races are staged on the Fuchu City Kyōdo-no-Mori certified half-marathon course, with the main start and finish located near the Kyōdo-no-Mori First Baseball Field. Much of the running takes place along the Tama River floodplain and the riverside path commonly known as the Tamagawa Kaze-no-Michi. The route is promoted as relatively flat, with few substantial climbs, making it suitable both for newer runners and for experienced competitors pursuing a personal-best time.
