Grandma's Marathon

The Grandma’s Marathon is a beloved early-summer running tradition held each June along the scenic shores of Lake Superior, finishing in Duluth. Founded in 1977, the marathon is renowned for its point-to-point course that starts north of the city and follows the lake into downtown Duluth, offering cool temperatures, sweeping water views, and famously enthusiastic crowd support. Alongside the full marathon, race weekend includes a half marathon and shorter community events, making it a festive celebration for runners of all levels.
