Hadano Tanzawa Minase Marathon

The Hadano Tanzawa Minase Marathon is an annual road-running event held in Hadano, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, at the foot of the Tanzawa mountain range. First staged in 2005 as part of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Hadano becoming a city, the event has developed into one of the area’s signature running events, attracting runners from across Japan to a scenic but notably challenging half-marathon course.

The race is centred on Hadano Culture Park (η§¦ι‡ŽεΈ‚γ‚«γƒ«γƒγƒ£γƒΌγƒ‘γƒΌγ‚―) and Metax Gymnasium Hadano, with the half marathon venturing north from the city toward the foothills of the Tanzawa Mountains. Hadano sits approximately 60–70 kilometres southwest of central Tokyo and is readily accessible via the Odakyu Line; the organizers estimate the journey from Shinjuku at roughly 55 minutes by Romancecar or around 70 minutes by express train.
