Limestone Race Weekend

Limestone Race Weekend is Kingston’s largest annual running event, held in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Organized by the Kingston Road Runners Association, the event brings together a 5K, Waterfront 10K, Historic Half Marathon, and the Tom Compton Memorial 2K for kids across a two-day spring race weekend. Visit Kingston describes it as the city’s largest annual running event and the original all-volunteer community event hosted by the Kingston Road Running Association.

The race has a strong local identity. Kingston is known as the “Limestone City,” and the event reflects that heritage through downtown routes, waterfront running, community volunteers, and courses that showcase some of the city’s most recognizable areas. The 10K route includes sections through Kingston Penitentiary, King Street West, Olympic Harbour, Providence Care, the Lakefront Trail, and Lake Ontario Park, while the half marathon and 5K are based around Confederation Park across from Kingston City Hall.

Limestone Race Weekend is also a community fundraiser. A portion of net proceeds supports BGC South East and the Start2Finish Reading and Running Program, giving the event a charitable purpose alongside its race-day atmosphere.
