Marathon Duchesnay Quebec

The Marathon Duchesnay Québec is one of Québec’s newest destination marathons, combining fast racing with the spectacular natural beauty of the Jacques-Cartier Valley just northwest of Québec City. Held annually at Station Duchesnay in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, Québec, Canada, the event offers runners a unique opportunity to chase personal bests while immersed in one of the province’s most colourful autumn landscapes. Organized as part of the Les Classiques de la Capitale race series, the marathon has quickly established itself as one of the premier late-season races in Eastern Canada.

Unlike traditional urban marathons, Marathon Duchesnay Québec is built around the Vélopiste Jacques-Cartier, a scenic rail trail that follows the Jacques-Cartier River through dense forests and rolling countryside. Approximately 70% of the route is compacted stone dust and 30% is paved asphalt, providing runners with a forgiving surface that is both fast and easy on the legs. The course is linear, gently rolling, and officially measured and certified to the World Athletics standard, making it eligible for qualification times for major international marathons.
