Marine Corps Marathon

The Marine Corps Marathon is a prestigious annual road running event held in Arlington, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., United States. Often called “The People’s Marathon,” it takes place each autumn and features a full marathon (26.2 miles / 42.2 km) that starts near the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington and finishes near the Marine Corps War Memorial, with much of the course running through the nation’s capital and past iconic landmarks such as the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol.
