Mt. Fuji Climb Run

The Mt. Fuji Climb Run (ε―Œε£«ε±±γ‚―γƒ©γ‚€γƒ γƒ©γƒ³) is a challenging uphill mountain race held in Fujiyoshida, Japan, on the northern side of Mount Fuji. Rather than climbing all the way to Japan’s 3,776-metre summit, the event takes runners from Fuji Hokuroku Park to the mountain’s historic Yoshida Trail and finishes near the Fifth Station. Covering approximately 12 kilometres while gaining around 1,200 metres of elevation, the race offers a demanding but comparatively accessible introduction to running on Japan’s most famous mountain.

The main race begins inside Fujisan GX Stadium at Fuji Hokuroku Park, approximately 1,100 metres above sea level. After leaving the stadium and surrounding park roads, runners join the historic Yoshida climbing route, a trail that has been used by pilgrims and mountain ascetics for centuries. The course rises steadily through forested terrain before finishing near Sato-goya on the Yoshida Trail at approximately 2,300 metres above sea level. Participants are rewarded with mountain scenery, cooler alpine air and expansive views from the upper slopes of Mount Fuji.
