Nagasaki MusicFES Marathon

The Nagasaki MusicFES Marathon is an innovative new Japanese marathon that combines the excitement of distance running with the energy of a live music festival. Launched as Nagasaki Prefecture's first officially certified full marathon, the event is built around the concept of "Running and music unite us for a peaceful and priceless day." Rather than being simply another road race, the marathon transforms race weekend into a celebration of sport, music, community, and peace, with live performances both on the course and at the finish venue.

The marathon begins and finishes at Transcosmos Stadium Nagasaki in Isahaya, following a scenic route through Isahaya City and neighboring Unzen City. One of the course's signature features is the spectacular approximately 7-kilometre stretch across the Isahaya Bay Reclamation Dike, offering runners sweeping views over Ariake Sea and the surrounding countryside. Throughout the race, musicians perform at numerous locations to encourage participants, while the finish area hosts a free outdoor music festival featuring well-known Japanese artists, creating a festive atmosphere for runners, spectators, and local residents alike.
