NGO Marathon Sarajevo

The NGO Marathon Sarajevo is a key running event in Sarajevo focused on promoting healthy living, community engagement, and sport across the region. Since its founding in 2007, the NGO “Marathon Sarajevo” has organized a series of races — most notably the Sarajevo Half Marathon each September — along with 5 km runs and other community events that draw both local runners and international participants. The event is part of the wider Sarajevo Run Fest, one of the largest running gatherings in the country, and helps promote sport, tourism, and social inclusion while celebrating the city’s rich cultural heritage.
