Pell Bridge Run

Pell Bridge Run, officially the Citizens Pell Bridge Run, is a nonprofit four-mile point-to-point run/walk in Newport, Rhode Island, USA, offering one of the most unusual race experiences in the Northeast. Hosted by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority and benefiting local causes through the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Foundation, the event gives runners and walkers the rare opportunity to cross the iconic Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge on foot, the only day of the year pedestrians are allowed on the span. The course starts in Jamestown and finishes in downtown Newport, pairing bridge-top views over Narragansett Bay with a community-focused atmosphere and a strong charitable mission.
