Rimbun International Sematan Run

The Rimbun International Sematan Run is one of Sarawak’s newest destination running events, combining road racing with the laid-back atmosphere of Malaysia’s scenic west coast. Held at the picturesque beaches of Sematan, the event showcases the natural beauty of the South China Sea shoreline, offering runners a rare opportunity to race along coastal roads, fishing villages, and beachfront landscapes that remain largely undiscovered by the international running community. The race markets itself as Sarawak’s first premium coastal running festival and aims to blend competitive racing with tourism, culture, and community celebration.

Located in the small seaside town of Sematan, approximately 68 km west of Kuching, the event takes place at the beautiful Sematan Beach Park. The area is known for its palm-lined beaches, sea views, relaxed fishing-village atmosphere, and spectacular sunsets over the South China Sea. Unlike urban races that weave through city streets, the Rimbun International Sematan Run emphasizes nature, open roads, ocean breezes, and destination-travel appeal.
