Ronde van Aruba

Ronde van Aruba is one of Aruba’s most legendary endurance events, an around-the-island ultra-distance road race held in Aruba, starting from the Korps Mariniers / Marine Barracks area in Savaneta. The event is known locally as one of the island’s toughest sporting challenges, sending runners around Aruba through night and early-morning conditions, heat, wind, coastal roads, and exposed island terrain.

The flagship event is the 72 km Ronde van Aruba, with additional shorter team or relay formats. The mission is simple but brutal: complete the 72 km course around Aruba within the official 9-hour cut-off.

Unlike a conventional marathon, Ronde van Aruba is more of an island-wide endurance rite of passage. It combines ultra-running, support logistics, local pride, military-style organization, and Aruba’s dramatic coastal setting. Participants must be prepared for a long overnight challenge, and the race is not open to walkers.
