Royal Copenhagen City Half

The Royal Copenhagen City Half is one of Europe’s newest and most ambitious road races, designed specifically for speed. Making its debut in 2026, the event was created to offer runners an exceptionally fast urban half marathon course through the Danish capital. The route begins in Copenhagen’s modern waterfront district of Nordhavn and finishes at the iconic Royal Arena in Ørestad, connecting some of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods, waterfront promenades, broad boulevards, and contemporary architectural landmarks. Organizers promote the race as one of the flattest and fastest city half marathons in Europe, making it attractive to both elite athletes and runners chasing personal bests.

Unlike Copenhagen’s established September half marathon, the Royal Copenhagen City Half takes place in the spring and offers a completely closed course free from normal traffic. The race combines Denmark’s renowned event organization, efficient public transportation, and cycling-friendly urban design into a streamlined race-day experience. With direct metro access near both the start and finish, runners and spectators can navigate the city with ease.
