The is Saskatchewan’s premier marathon weekend and one of Canada’s most community-driven road racing festivals. Held annually in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, the event transforms the city into a three-day celebration of running, walking, and community spirit each September. Organized by Queen City Marathon Inc. / Run Regina, the race weekend features a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, relay, 5K, family races, kids races, wheelchair division, and virtual options, making it one of the largest running events in the Canadian Prairies.
Centered around the scenic pathways and lakes of Wascana Centre, the Queen City Marathon is known for its flat and accessible course design, enthusiastic local spectators, and strong focus on inclusivity. The marathon course is certified as a Boston Marathon qualifier and attracts runners from across Canada seeking fast times and prairie hospitality. Beyond the racing itself, the event places a heavy emphasis on community wellness, volunteerism, Indigenous recognition, and charitable fundraising throughout Saskatchewan.
The race weekend traditionally takes place on the weekend immediately following Labour Day in Canada. Events are staged around the Conexus Arts Centre and Wascana Park area, with runners experiencing tree-lined roads, lakefront scenery, university districts, and some of Regina’s most recognizable landmarks throughout the course. The event slogan, “A Race for Every Pace,” reflects the festival’s broad accessibility to elite runners, recreational athletes, walkers, families, and first-time marathoners alike.
