Sanremo Marathon

The Sanremo Marathon is a scenic coastal running event held in Sanremo, Italy, on the Ligurian Riviera. The race is built around the Cycling Riviera / Pista Ciclabile, a seaside route created on the former railway line along the Riviera dei Fiori. The marathon course is described as fast, highly scenic, and almost flat, following the sea for much of the route from Sanremo through coastal towns such as Taggia, Riva Ligure, Santo Stefano al Mare, and toward San Lorenzo al Mare before returning to Sanremo.

Sanremo is one of Italy’s classic Riviera destinations, known as the “City of Flowers,” with a mild coastal climate, historic streets, the famous Sanremo Music Festival, and a strong tourism identity. For runners, the event offers the appeal of a winter destination race with Mediterranean views, a smooth road surface, and a course that can be quick when the coastal wind cooperates. The event includes multiple distances, making it accessible to marathoners, half marathoners, 10K runners, 5K runners, families, and recreational participants.
