Santa Shuffle

The Santa Shuffle is one of Canada’s most recognizable holiday-themed running events, bringing together thousands of participants each December for a festive 5K Fun Run and 1K Elf Walk. What began in Edmonton in 1990 as a local fundraiser has grown into a nationwide series held in communities across every Canadian province. Participants are encouraged to dress in Santa suits, elf costumes, holiday sweaters, and other festive attire while helping raise funds for local Salvation Army programs that support vulnerable individuals and families throughout the year.

Unlike a traditional competitive road race, the Santa Shuffle focuses on community spirit, family participation, and charitable fundraising. The event welcomes runners, walkers, strollers, children, seniors, and first-time participants. Every registration helps support local Salvation Army initiatives, with funds remaining in the community where they are raised. Participants receive a commemorative race shirt, finisher medal, race bib, and access to race-day festivities.
