Space Coast Marathon and Half Marathon

The Space Coast Marathon & Half Marathon is one of Florida’s most iconic road races and the oldest marathon in the state. Held each November in the historic riverfront community of Cocoa on Florida’s Space Coast, the event combines fast, scenic waterfront running with a unique aerospace theme inspired by nearby Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral. Since adopting its space-themed identity in 2007, each year’s race has celebrated a different NASA mission, giving participants a memorable experience that extends well beyond the finish line.

The marathon and half marathon begin in charming Cocoa Village before following a mostly flat, USATF-certified course along the Indian River. Runners enjoy miles of waterfront scenery, neighborhoods lined with spectators, themed aid stations, and numerous views across the water toward Florida’s famous Space Coast. The marathon course is also a popular Boston Marathon qualifier, attracting both first-time marathoners and experienced runners seeking a late-season personal best. With a generous seven-hour course limit, excellent organization, enthusiastic volunteers, and a festive finish inside Cocoa Riverfront Park, the event welcomes everyone from elite competitors to recreational runners and walkers.
