Sulphur Springs Trail Race

Sulphur Springs Trail Race is one of Canada’s best known trail and ultrarunning events, held in the Dundas Valley / Ancaster area of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The official race site describes it as a series of 10K and 20K loops through the Dundas Valley, set against the Niagara Escarpment with a mix of groomed trail, single track, rolling hills, and steep climbs and descents. It is especially notable for its long history, with the event dating back to the early 1990s and widely recognized as the oldest ultramarathon in Canada. 

What makes Sulphur Springs stand out is that it is much more than a standard local trail race. The event includes distances ranging from shorter trail options up to 50K, 50 mile, 100K, and 100 mile races, and the official materials note that the 100K and 100 mile events are now Western States qualifying races.
