The Taipei Wine Marathon is a distinctive wine-themed running festival held along the riverside paths of Taipei, Taiwan, combining road running with wine culture, food, music and a relaxed outdoor festival atmosphere. Inspired by the celebrated wine-running tradition of Bordeaux, the event takes a deliberately different approach from a conventional road race: rather than focusing solely on finish times and personal bests, Taipei Wine Marathon encourages participants to enjoy the journey, the riverside scenery and the celebration waiting beyond the finish line.
First developed from Taipei's local wine-running community, the event has grown into an annual gathering for runners, wine enthusiasts and anyone looking for a less traditional race experience.
The race takes place at Meiti Riverside Park in Taipei's Zhongshan District, with all three distances following out-and-back routes along Taipei's extensive riverside path network. Participants can choose from 5K, 10K and 21K distances. The 5K is deliberately accessible to newcomers and social runners, the 10K offers a longer tour of the riverfront, and the 21K provides a half-marathon-distance challenge for more experienced runners.
