Terry Fox Run

The Terry Fox Run – Toronto, Wilket Creek is one of Canada’s best-known community fundraising runs and one of the largest local events carrying on the legacy of Terry Fox and his historic Marathon of Hope. Held at Wilket Creek Park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the event brings together runners, walkers, families, volunteers and supporters to raise funds for cancer research while celebrating Terry Fox’s determination and enduring vision. The Wilket Creek event is particularly significant: it is one of the original Terry Fox Run sites and has developed into one of the country’s largest Terry Fox gatherings.

Unlike a conventional road race, the Terry Fox Run is deliberately non-competitive. There is no emphasis on finishing times, rankings or winning. The Terry Fox Foundation’s policies specifically call for its Runs to remain inclusive, family-oriented events without timing, entry fees or minimum pledges. Participants are encouraged to cover whatever distance and use whatever pace is appropriate for them.
