Turkistan Marathon

The Turkistan Marathon is an annual international road running event held in Turkistan (sometimes spelled Turkestan), Kazakhstan, typically in late October. The race takes place against the backdrop of one of Central Asia’s most historic cities and its rich Silk Road heritage, with courses that weave through scenic areas and iconic local landmarks. Distances on offer include the marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.097 km), 10 km run, Nordic walking 10 km, and a 3 km race for younger runners, making it a welcoming event for elite athletes, recreational runners, and families alike. The marathon is certified to World Athletics standards and is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), reflecting its international status and quality.
