Wooly Bully Race

The Wooly Bully Races are a long-running summer road-running tradition held on beautiful Amherst Island, Ontario, Canada, just west of Kingston. The event combines small-town community atmosphere with scenic racing along the island’s south shore, offering runners expansive views across Lake Ontario and an experience that begins before they even reach the start line: most participants travel to Amherst Island aboard the ferry from Millhaven. The event offers 5K and 10K road races, along with a 1K youth race for children aged 12 and under. The 2026 edition marks the 15th running of the event. (Race Roster)

In 2026, Wooly Bully moved to a new race headquarters on South Shore Road near Stella, at the homestead of Reta Brown. The new location sits approximately four kilometres from the Amherst Island ferry dock. Although the start/finish area has changed, runners continue to race along the scenic south shore of the island. The revised course takes competitors east along South Shore Road before returning to the finish, preserving the race’s characteristic views over Lake Ontario.
