2026 Half Marathon

Diacore took on the title sponsorship of the Gaborone Marathon in 2012 and since then, the event has grown from registering 2,000 to well over 11,000 participants year on year. A charitable race since its inception, Diacore Gaborone Marathon has raised millions of pula and taken up several social causes that have benefitted Botswana from various walks of life such as education, sports, medicine, women’s safety and hydroponic projects.

The event includes a 42.2km Marathon, 21.1km half marathon, 10km race and a 4km fun run for the whole family. The run-up to Race Day is much anticipated as one of the biggest events in the country. It is a fun day out for the entire family with various activities including Zumba, water slides, stage performances, food courts, refreshments, cheering and watching the winners on the podium. As an AIMS and IAAF certified event, the Diacore Gaborone Marathon is a qualifier for the Commonwealth and Olympic games. It is also widely renowned as one of the flattest and fastest routes in the region.

Diacore Gaborone Marathon has also created a running program which features up to 10 of Botswana's elite long distance runners. The team has since gone on to conquer podiums all across the nation through to Soweto in South Africa and, of course, at their home race of the Diacore Gaborone Marathon.
