Event Details
The 10K begins at Dock Gate 8, at Southampton’s City Cruise Port, starting alongside the day’s other races and heading out of the docks onto Southampton’s waterfront.
Runners pass Mayflower Park, the Red Funnel ferry terminals, Queens Park and views of Southampton Harbour before approaching one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks, the Itchen Bridge.
The 10K is the shortest distance that crosses the bridge — not once, but twice. On the first climb, runners face east, greeted by views across the River Itchen toward Woolston and Weston Shore. After looping through Woolston — the primary manufacturing location of the first Supermarine Spitfire — runners rejoin the bridge, ascending westward with views over the docks and city skyline. On a clear day, you may even spot the Isle of Wight and the New Forest in the distance.
For the first time ever in the event’s history, 10K runners will get the chance to run through St Mary's Stadium, the home of Southampton FC, joining marathon and half marathon participants in experiencing one of the most iconic moments on the route in local sport. The race then returns to the city centre, guiding participants through Palmerston Park before emerging at the top of East Park, rejoining the streets and descending along London Road for a fast, downhill finish — the first of all races to enjoy this stretch.
The race finishes on Above Bar Street, previous start and finish area of all races. Runners will be greeted in the Guildhall Square by volunteers handing them their well deserved medal.
On-route entertainment and live music will feature across all races, providing support and atmosphere around the course.
