Event Details
First held in March 2025, the inaugural Dublin City Half Marathon saw nearly 12,000 runners from elite athletes to clubcompetitors, charity runners and first‑time half‑marathoners take on the journey through Dublin City’s streets. The event waswidely acclaimed for its organisation, celebration of community participation.
Returning in 2026 under the theme of Run Together, Thrive Together, the race returns on May 3rd, 2026 with Dublin City Council as title sponsor, welcoming runners of all abilities and backgrounds for a shared quality racing experience in the heart of Dublin.
The 21.1 KM course will start in the heart of the city on O’Connell Street, guiding participants through a scenic route across the north side of Dublin before finishing back in the city centre. Runners will be boosted by the energetic support of residents, family members and supporters in various Dublin communities.
The Dublin City Council Dublin City Half Marathon is organised by Dublin Marathon Group, a not-for-profit organisation that also delivers the Irish Life Dublin Marathon and Irish Life Dublin Marathon Race Series.
