The 22 km course offers a well-balanced mix of paved roads and scenic trails, beginning near the Shibumigawa River at 70 meters above sea level and climbing to a high point of 348 meters at Oguni Pass. Passing through several small villages, the route includes more road sections than the longer course, allowing runners to experience the local countryside up close. Along the ridgeline between Oguni and Ojiya, short but steep climbs and descents add a touch of challenge. Enjoyable and approachable, this course is highly recommended for those new to trail running.
