Event Details
The Full Marathon is a Japan Association of Athletics Federations-approved 42.195 km course, starting at 9:00 am on Sunday, January 10, 2027, in Ibusuki City. Participants must be 19 years or older and capable of completing the course within 8 hours. The entry fee is ¥11,000, with awards for the top six finishers in each age bracket and special awards for the furthest traveler, oldest participant, and sister/twin city. Every 500th finisher will receive a special award. Prizes include invitations to the Gyeongju Cherry Marathon in South Korea and a ¥100,000 JTB travel voucher. Runners must finish within eight hours for their times to be recorded. Checkpoints are located at 29 km (closing at 3:00 pm) and 35 km (closing at 4:00 pm). Times will be recorded at the start and every 10 kilometers, with official times based on gun times. Bibs can be picked up on January 9 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm and on January 10 from 6:30 am to 8:00 am at the Ibusuki Municipal Gymnasium. Finisher certificates are available for download on the official website. Temporary storage for valuables is provided, and water stations are available at intervals starting from the 5 km point.
